Installing an Alternative Web Browser
Occasionally malicious software such as spy-ware, ad-ware, or viruses may corrupt the Windows default web browser, Internet Explorer. Even if this software is removed and the PC is cleaned, it may have destroyed key portions of Internet Explorer's program. The easiest way to get Internet Explorer back to its full functionality is to re-install the Windows operating system, which can be difficult and time consuming.
Another is to install an alternative web browser. We recommend Firefox as it has been tested with all aspects of WebCT and it looks almost exactly like Internet Explorer so there is little to no time lost learning a new browser. Firefox is a free download and works on Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems.
Step 1: Go to http://www.mozilla.org/ and download FireFox.

Note: Over time the appearance of the above site may change and the link may be located elsewhere on the site.
Step 2: After the program has finished downloading, run the Firefox Setup program to begin. Click Next to continue.

Step 3: Leave the Standard setup option selected. Click Next to continue.

Step 4: At the summary screen, click Next to continue.

Step 5: The program will begin installation. This may take a few minutes.

Step 6: At the Install Complete screen, un-check Use Firefox Start as my Home Page. Click Finish to complete the installation.
