Clearing Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files and Cookies

Temporary Internet Files are files that are stored on your computer each time you visit a web site. These files help reduce load times of frequently visited web sites by placing a copy of the site on your computer. The problem with the temporary files is that the copy on your computer may take priority when loading the site. This means your view of the web site may not be current. Temporary Internet Files accumulate over time and may take up large portions of disk space.

Cookies are small files placed on your computer by web sites so that a site may remember your settings. Deleting these files will reset your saved options of those sites to default, which could be causing problems.

Step 1: Open Internet Explorer.

Step 2: Click on the Tools menu and then click on Internet Options...

Step 3: Click on the Delete Cookies... button, click on Yes to the window that pops up. Click on the Delete Files... button, click on Yes in the window that pops up. Click OK at the bottom to exit.

Note: You may need to close all Internet Explorer windows and reopen them after you do this.
