Industrial
Business Degree Program
The
Industrial Business Degree Program is a one-year program which is
designed for one-year Industrial Technology diploma graduates who
desire to complete their Associate Degree and earn an AAS degree.
The Industrial Business Degree Program will develop additional business
and communication skills essential for management and supervision
in the technical fields.
The
Industrial Business Degree Program can be used in conjunction with
the following one-year Diploma programs to earn an A.A.S. degree:
CAD
Technology Program
The Computer Aided Design Technology Program is a 38-week program
and provides students with technical training needed to enter the
various fields of computer aided drafting and design. The focus
of the program is to give students experience in developing media-to-industry
standards using computers. Included are drafting fundamentals and
techniques, software applications, math, communication skills, and
object representation using 2D and 3D principles.
Welding
Technology
The Welding Technology Program is a 30-week program and is designed
to teach fundamental welding techniques and principles. The program
provides an overview of related topics such as metallurgy and fabrication,
layout, estimating, and repair. As a state-of-the-art program, the
Welding Technology Program continually updates its offerings and
is committed to providing the student one of the best welding programs
in the state of Iowa.
Mechanical
Maintenance Program
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician Program is a 30-week program
with an optional 8-week industrial internship, and provides training
essential for entry-level positions as machine repairer, building
and plant maintenance technicians. This program will provide basic
skills in welding, electrical, plumbing, boiler, HVAC, pneumatics
and hydraulics, blueprint reading, motor controls, industrial wiring,
and conduit bending.
Industrial
Electrician Program
The Industrial Electrician Program is a 30-week program with an
8-week industrial internship, and provides training essential for
entry-level positions as building and plant maintenance technicians.
This program will provide basic skills in welding, electrical fundamentals,
pneumatics & hydraulics, blueprint reading, motor controls,
motor fundamentals, National Electrical Code, industrial wiring,
conduit bending, and Programmable Logic Controllers.
Carpentry
Program
The Residential Carpentry Program is a 38-week program and provides
students with the skills needed to successfully enter the construction
industry. The main emphasis of this program is residential carpentry
with related instruction in concrete, residential wiring, and mechanical
systems. Building science and “House as a System” technology
are integrated throughout this program.
Commercial
Construction Program
The Commercial Construction Program is a 30-week program and prepares
students for entry-level positions in the commercial construction
industry. Students will focus on planning, problem solving, resource
management, and team focused objectives. Strong leadership skills
will be developed along with knowledge of building science, construction
methods, materials, scheduling, and estimating.
