Standards
of Living
The
Standards of Living are set forth by the Director of Residence
Life and the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student
Development. Residents that fail to comply with these standards
will be subject to immediate dismissal. These standards are in
place to ensure that all residents’ rights and privacy are
respected.
All
housing facilities including walls, carpets, doors, appliances,
light fixtures, etc. are property of the College. The apartment
should be left in the same condition it was found upon checking
in, with reasonable allowances for wear and tear.
Students
who have special requests, which will alter the apartment or room,
should make those requests through the Residencen Life Office.
Violation of the following standards can result in a resident
or apartment failing routine room inspections. This list is not
meant to be all-inclusive and students are expected to respect
the rights of others and take responsibility for exhibiting socially
acceptable behavior at all times.
Standards
that residents are expected to follow:

Drip bowls on stove must be kept clean.

No
painting is allowed.

Thumb
tacks only. Do not use nails or sticky fun-tack.

Apartment
odor must be fresh and sanitary.

Floors
must be vacuumed, swept and mopped.

Bathroom
appearance must be clean and sanitary including sinks, toilets
and showers.

Garbage
or trash accumulation anywhere is prohibited.

Other
unclean or unsanitary living conditions will not be tolerated.

College
apartments are smoke-free housing facilities.

Do
not use rubber-backed rugs on tile floors.

Windows
cannot be opened.
