Emergency
Medical Services Program
The
Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic (EMS) program prepares the
student to perform the pre-hospital phase of emergency medical care.
Students may choose a certificate or degree program. Graduates are
prepared to initiate and maintain treatment for medical, trauma
and cardiac emergencies following physician orders or standard protocols.
Levels
of Certification
- EMT-Basic
- EMT-Intermediate
(pre-requsite: student must be state/nationally registered as
an EMT-B)
- Iowa
Paramedic
(pre-requsite:
student must be state/nationally registered as an EMT-B)
- Paramedic Specialist Certification
(pre-requsite:
student must be state/nationally registered as an EMT-B)
- Associate
Degree Paramedic Specialist
(pre-requsite:
student must be state/nationally registered as an EMT-B)
