The Collegian is the student newspaper of Iowa Central Community College. Established in 1961, The Collegian has chronicled the events of the college, its students, staff and faculty, on a regular basis since that time. A full-color, tabloid section, the American Scholastic Press Association award-winning Collegian prints three times per semester, from September until May. The Collegian is available at points throughout the Fort Dodge campus and via mail free of charge. Students are responsible for content, design and production of the newspaper.

In addition to the print editions, the Collegian has also found a home online. Weekly updates and stores are posted online to cover issues that may happen outside of the print deadlines.

Faculty adviser for The Collegian is Josh Sandin, a former Collegian Editor-in-Chief.  The Collegian encourages students with any desire to enter any wide-ranging field of communications to participate in the print media experience. Collegian staff jobs range from reporting, editing, photo journalism, and page design to advertising sales and bulk distribution. Students with a wide range of interests and majors join the Collegian staff for the experience of contributing to a newspaper publication.
