2006 Half Marathon Meet Information

1.   The starting time for the women has changed.  We will now start
the men at 9:00 am and the women at 9:05 am.  This is to make sure no
one on the men's side will drop back to draft or pace a woman.  DON'T
FORGET THIS APPLIES TO MEN PACING MEN AND WOMEN PACING WOMEN TOO.
Also, coaches can not use their bikes as pacing instruments or for
drafting.

2.   Our pre-race dinner is on the BCCC Campus at the Student Union at
7:00 pm.  I advise you to check in then to get your packets and be
there for the meeting.  We will be discussing any more relevant details
pertaining the race, and setting some policy decisions for future half
marathons.  Your voice will be needed!

3.  We will have an awards ceremony at the host hotel, (Best Western
Inn), at 12:00 Noon after the race.  To help, Bryce has fixed it so
that teams can have free sack lunches to take with them after the
awards if they would like.  It would help if you email me if you would
be interested in these sack lunches so I can let Bryce prepare for the
number we need.

4.  During the race, it is legal to give water to runners, or medical
attention that may be necessary, (this will be explained more at the
dinner).  BUT, remember, no drafting/pacing.

5.  We will have two aid stations that the athletes will hit 4 times.
Please advise them to drink fluids to protect them.  It was 86 degrees
today here, so who knows what we might get!

6.  The entry fee is based on the total number entered at the entry
deadline.  Make sure you figure your fee correctly.  For 3 people it is
$55, for every runner after that add $15 per person.  Individuals are
$20.

7.  One last item that just came up was our declaration time.  Right
now, we say declaration is the end of the race.  We need to set a time
officially.  What this means is that you can run as many athletes as
you want, but only 3 score and 4/5 runners are displacers.  It also
means that anyone can run as many international SCHOLARSHIPPED runners
as they want.  BUT, only one scholarshipped international athlete will
count towards scoring and towards All-American awards.  Basically, all
scholarshipped international athletes after the 1st one will be
"declared" as not part of the team.

This does NOT apply to walk-on international students, since they
are eligible to run and score.

8.  Don't forget that the only revenue we have other then entry fees
are T-shirt sales.  So if you would still like to buy some, let me know
when you arrive, and we can order them for your athletes!!!
