Position: Sustainable Energy Instructor

Beginning Date: January 9, 2008

Reports To: Director of Industrial Technology Department

About the Position: Individual will teach such courses as wind generator construction and maintenance for on-grid and off-grid applications, photovoltaic systems, hybrid electrical system combining both photovoltaic and wind generator systems, electricity/electronics, and electrical generators and co-generation of energy

Qualifications:

• Must have 6000 hours of directly related occupational work experience.
• An associate or baccalaureate degree in a technical occupation is desired.
• Applicants should have a high degree of computer fluency, the ability to learn and transfer technical knowledge to students, and the personality to promote the Sustainable Energy program.
• Expected to meet the standards of the Iowa Central Quality Faculty Plan established by the College Board of Trustees.
• All candidates interviewed will be required to provide a teaching demonstration.

Conditions: This is a full-time position (170 days).  Minimum salary will be $43,445 (three years experience) (contract and length will be pro-rated for the remainder of the 2007-2008 year).  Benefits include health and hospitalization, dental, long-term disability, and term life insurance, paid sick leave and holidays, and participation in IPERS or TIAA-CREF retirement plan.
